A message from our Pastor:
As a family church, we joyfully love and serve the Lord Jesus whatever our age.
We meet together on Sundays to worship through praise, prayer and preaching God's word. We shall be delighted if you would like to join with us, just turn up at 10.30am or 5pm.
Services are relaxed and contemporary yet open to the Holy Spirit's guiding. Children and young people are most welcome and have their own ministry times.
During the week, small groups meet for bible study and pastoral support, and there are other regular activities here at the church including our Gathering Grounds cafe.
Through this web site, you can find out lots more about who we are, what we believe, what we are doing and how you too can be part of God's work in this area. Please explore!
Like many others, you may also be reading this because, in the light of the Corona Virus pandemic, you're asking why God allows sickness and suffering.
This is a complex topic so I've included some links to helpful resources that provide excellent answers to this difficult question but, suffice to say, God did not create sickness or suffering; both are the result of humanity's sin.
Moreover, in His love for us, God provided a solution to our sin and its consequences when He bore our punishment on the Cross. Every one of us now has the offer of peace with God, forgiveness for sin, and a place in heaven where there will be no sin, sickness, suffering or Satan.
In order to receive God's offer of new life with Him we must turn from our rebellious ways and turn to God by believing Jesus to be our only Saviour from sin, and confessing Him as our only Lord.
1 Peter 1:3-4 sums this message up when it says,
'Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.'
As followers of Jesus Christ, we are bearers of the real and living hope. Our certain hope and joyful conviction is that in Jesus Christ, God has already won the victory over sin, sickness, uncertainty and death.
This doesn't mean that we are immune to the sufferings of the world, nor that we should not take the same sensible precautions as everyone else. But it does mean that, of all people, followers of Jesus need not be overtaken by fear, discouragement or despair. In fact, we have a unique offer for our nation and our local communities, the hope and the 'medicine' of the Gospel.
